Everyone knows I'm a proud brazilian born and resident, and as every good brazilian, I'm a fan of soccer.

I'm counting the days for the World Cup, and I think Brazil will win this Cup.

I know on the board we have people from different countries, some of them with great national teams (Poppo) and I would like to know everybody elses's opinions about their national teams on the world cup...

I think Brazil beats Germany at the final match, goals of Ronaldinho (Barcelona), Robinho (Real Madrid), Ronaldo (Real Madrid) and Adriano (Internazionale)... 4 to 1, with Ballack scoring too... hehehehe I know it's too soon, but that's how I'd like it to be...

As a Trinbagonian by birth and life long "football" fan I have long dreamt of this.
After a life of supporting Brazil in Green/Yellow ... this year I get to wave the Red, White & Black.

I too anticipate Brazil to be in the finals the opponent I'm not sure about

germany won't make it to the finals.. that's for sure.

í don't know how the Dutch will do this tournament, i haven't really been following the latest soccer news. ha, i don't even know all the names of the players in the Dutch team. 10 yrs ago i was a big fan, but i lost interest, the game is about moneymoneymoney. but nevertheless my prognose(sp?): maybe they'll reach the quarter or half finals. i remember the Dutch always have a rough start, but once they are through the first round they start to play their own game..

I caught soccer fever in 98 when I went to see WH in Paris. I am looking 4ward to fun games, rivalries, and I hope the hoodlums in Switzerland keep their bad behaviour OUT of the World Cup.

I hope that a rookie team, like Korea last time, has an underdog cinderella moment. I was really feeling the Koreans last time. there is something about a team that takes NOTHING for granted and is happy to just make it to the next Tribal Council.

That is the fire that Brazil and the other "I expected to be here anyways so its no biggie" teams.

I didn't know that. One thing that helps the underdog teams is that they play for the fun of it, and there is no stress. Whereas the traditional winning teams are expected to perform. If they are eliminated early, they are greeted with rotten tomatoes and hisses upon their return home. I think some Columbian player was even shot dead.

No. That's why we are the country with the most cups won, most players chosen number one, and can't be reached, at least, until 2010... sorry...

At least, since I am a soccer fan, I've seen 5 World Cups, with 2 wins, 3 finals, and a couple of quarter finals, if I'm not mistaken... So...

Anyone knows how France's national team is doing? They were really big in the days I still cared about soccer, but I'm not so sure now. And Brazil is good and I always enjoy it when they play, but their problem is that they care too much about style. I remember they played against Belgium in the last World Cup (Belgium, the worst team in history...after Andorra at least ) and Belgium almost won! (the referee dismissed one of 'our' goals, which turned out to be a mistake). And why did they almost win? Just because Ronaldo & Co. enjoyed doing tricks more than they enjoyed scoring goals...
If I have to root for someone, it'll be Spain, I think. And I hope Germany gets out of there soon. I support anyone playing against them. They're good, but soooo boring.

JUST A GAME ... to some this is more than a game ... "The Cup of life" is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the passion felt about this game ... I'm not sure there is a sport in America that captivates ENTIRE, towns, villages, cities and nations the way this sport does. Of course the Colombian incident was an extreme but all around the world people play and spectate out of a love for the game that has little to do with product endorsements, phat contracts and being able to play with the great teams.

Now, seriously, there is one team that deserves, and has deserved for a long time, to win a world cup, that's Holland. And if we can't make it, then let it be Holland the world champion...

About France, I hope their team doesn't depend too much of Zidane, and maybe this can be the cup of Henry... Let's see... They are on a relatively easy group...
